MARIE MARIETTE REY

Sunrise: August 19, 1920 Sunset: October 12, 2016

Little did we know that God was ready to call her home, and with broken hearts the family would like to announce that Marie Mariette Rey has gone to be with our Lord. She ran the race with patience and dignity and now the journey has ended on earth but continues in paradise.

Marie was one of 15 children of which three are still with us. She was born in Rey Hill, Anguilla, West Indies, moved to St. Martin as an infant then later to Jamaica when she was 17. Upon her retirement she later migrated to New York and then to Deerfield Beach, Florida where she resided since 1990. She made her living as a hairdresser and later as a seamstress. She raised 3 boys, Noel, Rudy (Deceased) and Neville. She was the best mother and cheerleader to her children, family and friends. Marie loved her family dearly. She always spoke about her brothers and sisters and with each of their passing's she lost a little bit of her heart. She loved the Lord and loved to tell people about God. She was dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic church for the past 20 plus years. She was also a member of The Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan 3rd Order, St. Joseph, Fort Lauderdale Chapter for the past 15 years. Marie was known to all who knew her as a woman who spoke her mind and called a spade a spade. She showed us all that age was nothing but a number up to the very end as she lived to the age of 96. May her love for Christ, family and life live on in the lives of all who knew her.
