Donald Meyers Decker was born March 19, 1931, in Passaic, N.J., and died Sept. 30, 2017 at Williamsburg Landing in Wilton Manors, FL. He was the first son of Wilhelmina and Cornelius Decker.

A Graduate of New York University with a BA in Business, he joined the American Air Force in 1952 to participate in the Korean Conflict. Donald retired in 1955 as a full Captain. His service included assignments to ferry nuclear bombs to England and weapons to Puerto Rico; recon missions over Korea and aerial refueling over Marakesh, Morroco and North...

Donald Meyers Decker was born March 19, 1931, in Passaic, N.J., and died Sept. 30, 2017 at Williamsburg Landing in Wilton Manors, FL. He was the first son of Wilhelmina and Cornelius Decker.

A Graduate of New York University with a BA in Business, he joined the American Air Force in 1952 to participate in the Korean Conflict. Donald retired in 1955 as a full Captain. His service included assignments to ferry nuclear bombs to England and weapons to Puerto Rico; recon missions over Korea and aerial refueling over Marakesh, Morroco and North Africa as part of the Strategic Bomber Command. His professional life was in Systems Development for the American Broadcast Company and Manager of Broward County Information System Division. He also served in the County Records Division of Broward County prior to retiring in 2002.

Don married Elizabeth Ann Chambers and was blessed with three sons: Steven, Jeffrey and James. Death called Elizabeth in 1986 and Donald married Carol Lee Ortman in 1987. Carol's two children Craig and Beth became Don's new family. Don is also survived by 4 granddaughters: (Nancy; Christine; Alexandra, and Katie Decker;) and his sister Constance Beaudoin-Tate.

Don, we miss you greatly, and sorely regret your passing. Your life enriched all of ours. Although your physical presence has been lost to us, the lessons you taught and the love you gave will never be forgotten. WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Donald's memorial service which will commence on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 6:00 at the Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.
